Burns Hall at First Church was buzzing on Saturday 22 November as OAR FM celebrated its Air Awards.
The event is a celebration of the achievements of the more-than 200 volunteer content-creators who contributed to programming over the past year.
Entries from 66 of OAR FM’s 100-plus locally made radio programmes and podcasts were assessed by an external panel of judges, who considered how elements of each episode combined to deliver an engaging experience for listeners.
The Supreme Award and $400 cash prize, sponsored by the PSA, was won by financial advisor Becky Runga for her series Broke to Brilliant, a relatable money journey to transform financial literacy and confidence in New Zealand.
