From 2012 to 2019, Dunedin-based Dr Maureen Howard hosted the popular radio show Eco Living in Action with OAR FM.
Now she’s back behind the mic with her new show Rewilding in Action.
Originally from Northern Ireland, Maureen immigrated to New Zealand in 1994 where she completed her studies with a PhD in Psychology from Otago University. Since then, Maureen has worked in a variety of environmental roles, including Sustainable Living Facilitator with the Dunedin City Council and Principal Writer for Resilient – a sustainability-focused magazine insert in the Otago Daily Times.
Currently, Maureen is the Senior Education Coordinator with Town Belt Kaitiaki, a student-led education programme for Dunedin schools and early childhood centres that focuses on authentic learning achieved by promoting and protecting the natural environment of the Dunedin Town Belt.
